Although ProBook 5330M is unadorned aluminum lid has a resemblance to the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Thunderbolt) ($ 2,199 direct, 4 stars) when they open the laptop looks much sharper: all right angles, revealed by two bare metal tones. Speaking of dark, ProBook 5330M into a full-size backlit keyboard, and his square black keys provide a comfortable writing experience similar to that obtained with the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 ($ 1,399.99 direct, 3.5 stars), even if not ProBook sculpted keycaps.

No frills appearance is even more extreme with HP to minimize the appearance of any of the LEDs. The only ones that remain are small, subtle indicators of the Wi-Fi and hard drive activity lights and four buttons on a portable platform power on and off, switching the built-in Wi-Fi radio, mute the volume, and activating HP QuickWeb interface. In fact, when the LEDs are not lit pin prick, are also completely. This adds to the car elegance.

The only concern which raises the chassis is hot. During the execution of some of our most demanding fan performance benchmarks ProBook was very noisy, and temperatures rise as high as 106 degrees Fahrenheit (as measured by an infrared thermometer Fluke). It's not a deal breaker by any means, but the laptop can be too hot to use comfortably on your lap.

Performance

ProBook HP 5330M can be subtle, but does not sacrifice processing power for the battery, in some way to make portable: a very-low-voltage processors. Its processor is an Intel Core i5-2520m, 2.5GHz dual-core chips, the same can be found in IBM ThinkPad X1, and similar to that used in Dell Inspiron 3350. Coupling this processor 4GB RAM 5330M ProBook helped to do well in our benchmark tests. In PCMark Vantage, our overall operating performance of the test, who scored 7257, while Lenovo X1 scored in 7500 and 6688 Dell Inspiron 3350 only. R11.5 our Cinebench test CPU speed, ProBook 5330M scored 2.78, before the Dell (2.56), but behind Lenovo (2.85).

Thank you to Intel HD 3000 Graphics-system as a processor, 5330M EliteBook packs a lot of video capabilities, even without a discrete card. In 3DMark 06, even in our DirectX 9 benchmark test video, this integrated solution has produced dozens of medium resolution in 4014 and 1928 native resolution. In comparison, Dell Vostro 3350 scored an impressive 5672 and 4648 an average resolution in indigenous communities, while AMD Radeon equipped HP EliteBook 8560p ($ 1,499.99 direct, 4 Stars) scored only 5477 (medium) and 3795 (native). The best test of graphics performance is the game, and could not produce ProBook 5330M 14.9 fps in Lost Planet 2 on medium settings and could not run Crysis at all. Although this prevents serious ProBook games, it has yet to be translated into support for basic graphics work-related programs, and casual games in your off-hours.

Although the game does not effect your workday much media, perhaps. Our test image processing in Photoshop CS5, ProBook 5330M applied to 12 filters and effects for 3 minutes 53 seconds compared to 4:17 for your Dell. We saw a similar performance in our video encoding tests handbrake, the 5330M was completed in 2 minutes and 26 seconds. Dell behind with 2:33.

In our MobileMark 2007 test suite summary, the HP EliteBook 5330M lasted 3 hours and 49 minutes, which is not bad considering that uses a four-cell battery 41Wh. This helps to reduce the thickness reduced ProBook 5330M battery, but it is far 80WH battery that offers the Dell Vostro 3350 battery life every day (9 hours 36 minutes). However, it is comparable to what we have seen in other notebooks in this category, such as the Lenovo ThinkPad X 1 (03:10, 40Wh).

All in all, ProBook 5330M is a robust, portable for professionals to small businesses. If you need better battery life and graphics performance, choice of publishers' Dell Vostro 3350 is a better fit, and if your job involves heavy graphics processing or calculations extreme numbers, consider hitting an HP EliteBook 8560p. But the sharp eyes that will surely make a good impression in meetings and reading the chops to shoulder a workload healthy 5330M ProBook do the job.
