Samsung N120 Review

Building and Design

All netbooks in general have the same specifications for the design is everything when it comes to selling a netbook. Samsung's designers did a great job with the N120 - is one of the most attractive netbooks I've seen to date. The N120 still manages to look great from all angles.

Our N120 is white and is made of sturdy plastic with a feeling of quality. N120 All surfaces except the monitor, the hinges, and side trim has a matt surface with a light texture. The N120 is comfortable to hold, I always found taking it from room to room.

Coverage N120 is a subtle but strong. There is little middle-side flex and ripples appear when you put pressure on the back. Cover has a little curve in it, and rounded edges, which feel smooth, without sharp edges, where the seams meet. On both sides of the display N120s stereo speakers and the camera is embedded in the ground. The cover is secured to the bottom of the netbook with two chrome hinges. Bottom of the screen actually turns the battery over the opening, which not only adds style, but the N120 will help to keep a low profile.

N120 fund has also a feeling of strength and quality. And 'unlikely to bend under pressure and seems to be very durable (time will tell). 97% of the full-size keyboard takes up most of the property as it should be, and the touchpad will cover most of vertical space under the keyboard. There are no physical buttons except the power button for N120, which is really on the side of the car next to the hinge.

The sides of the strip N120 seems particularly interesting in chrome finish. The inside pages are engraved, leaving the doors, which makes the netbook look smaller than it actually is. In front of the netbook is a bit 'curve, which corresponds to the lid, the lid and bottom fit together well. Although the N120 to use a larger six-cell battery, Samsung has managed to design a netbook is just a small bulge out of the back, a larger battery does not protrude, as happens in some of the mini-notebooks like the HP Mini.

Overall, the Samsung N120 is the design more attractive than any netbook I've used so far, reaches its visual appeal without any coverage strange patterns and colors.

Screen and speakers

The N120 has a 10.1 inch widescreen (16:9) with a 1024x600 resolution and LED backlight. Contrast and brightness are excellent, which is probably a pretty picture. I saw the color depth, but the screen is not something to complain about the N120. The LED display to provide a uniform distribution of brightness. The N120 has eight levels of brightness, I believe each to be used with 5 or 6 is the most comfortable and 3 are putting on a good battery.

Viewing angles are, on average, half the side are generally good with some minor changes in color, but washes off the top and below it darkens quickly. N120s screen has a glossy finish screen, then the reflections are a problem outdoors and under fluorescent light.

1024x600 resolution with this netbook makes it difficult to multitask and use programs where space matters. I found myself doing a lot of vertical scrolling, horizontal scrolling, and also on many websites. Requires only 600 pixels of vertical space limits what can be achieved using this netbook (and to be honest, most other netbook).

There are actually three speakers on the N120 - a 1.5 watt speaker on each side of the screen and a subwoofer under the left palm rest small. The machine has SRS TruSurround XT technology which is supposed to help create a virtual surround sound experience. All this may make you think that sounds decent netbook - it's not the case. The N120 only succeeded in sounding Tinnie a conventional notebook and without bass, and if you expect something from these speakers you will be satisfied. The headphone jack is another story - it is free from interference and the best way to enjoy audio on N120.

Keyboard and Touchpad

N120 is an almost full-size keyboard, I needed only minor changes, which are standard on the notebook keyboard, and you can write with the same speed. The keyboard is decent tactile feedback. The keys have a good support and do not press your fingers when he told them to rest. Key travel is shorter than normal, which is part of the reason N120s keyboard lacks tactile feel of a bigger keyboard and the keys are also more subtle. The keyboard has no flex, which is always a good thing. It 'too quiet and not disturb the neighbors.

The keyboard layout has some flaws - for example, the Windows key is located on the right side of the machine, while the majority of contacts are there on the left. Another strange aspect of this keyboard has volume control. The left and right arrow keys to adjust the volume, but the mute button on the top line is mapped to [F6]. It would be easier if they were in one place. Overall, the keyboard is very good and very useful. As someone who is very picky about keyboards, I had no doubts about using the keyboard N120s on a daily basis.

The touchpad is sized to match the 10-inch N120. It has a matte surface that is easy to follow with their fingers in the wet or dry. The touchpad buttons are one piece of plastic under the touchpad, which is quiet and has a good idea.

Ports and Features

There is a limited selection of ports on the N120, but the most important are there. This requires a slideshow of images of all kinds are left to right.
