Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Review

Lenovo has announced its latest line of ThinkPad notebooks, but they had captured more in store: the ThinkPad X220. If you've never heard the name "ThinkPad" brand, so I'm glad it finally came out of the cave who have lived in the mid 1990's. ThinkPad has been considered some of the best business laptops through a combination of confidence leading performance, solid build quality, excellent keyboard, TrackPoint precision (the red dot in the center of the keyboard) and the support of the great warranty. The previous generation 12-inch ThinkPad, ThinkPad X201, was widely considered the best 12 inch laptop market business.

The X220 will be even better?

At first glance, the exterior of the ThinkPad X220 has some minor changes to the X201. The location of various ports were removed, but you still have the same tried and true square design combined with magnesium alloy construction and durable plastic with rubber coated matte black paint. Lenovo continues to offer essentially a full-size keyboard on an ultraportable 12-inch laptop, but the keyboard is large at the expense of space for the palm rest. While writing is very comfortable on the X220, the dolls are not abundant space with your fingers in the traditional position of writing.

Regardless of a compact, Lenovo's X220 will continue the trend of "business rugged" laptop. This ThinkPad is tested Milspec (shock, thermal shock, altitude, dust, vibration, humidity, heat and cold), and proven durability. Translation: for professionals do not have to do with this laptop with kid gloves. Toss X220 car or ask the flight attendant to jam a hat on a shelf. X220 takes the player and will continue to work.

Most business customers Lenovo for laptops pre-configured exactly as they want. But Lenovo makes it relatively easy for customers wishing to upgrade the X220 on its own. The hard drive is easily replaced by removing a single screw on the side access panel. As for RAM, there are two slots in the main access plate at the bottom of the laptop. Our review unit came with a single memory module 4 GB installed, so it would be easy enough to move to 8 GB maximum memory capacity by installing another stick of 4GB of RAM.

Ports and Features

ThinkPad X220 is what can be described as the layout of the gate stronger than we have seen none of the current 12-inch laptop gneration. You get two standard USB 2.0 ports and a choice of one of the "always on" USB 2.0 (for charging USB devices when the notebook is off) or a USB 3.0 port for fast data transfer. X220 has a VGA, Display Port Connection, Gigabit Ethernet, SDHC card reader. Oh, and Lenovo's engineers also managed to squeeze a full size 54mm ExpressCard slot for accessories, and expansion of the port. If this is not enough ports, a docking station for connecting a laptop on the bottom so you can take this 12-inch laptop for cash.

Thanks a lot, worked like magic!
Before I was using like 3.5 GB of ram when going to hibernate,
on resuming, the system would return with only 1.8 GB loaded,
and i couldn't use anything from the loaded session.
Now I can work right away :) like it's supposed to be.
THANK YOU for nerve and time saving.
